When the dryer is drying it makes a popping noise like popcorn or cranking. It doesn't do it right away but after a while the noise starts. It does it all the way to the end of the cycle. I honestly don't know how old the dryer is because we bought it from someone else used already and we have had it for 3 years, so that is why I said more than 10 years.
