Model Number: DE303 Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
When a cycle finished this morning the buzzer went off and would not stop until I opened the door. Upon closing the door the buzzer started again. I then turned the timer to once again have remaining time and then closed the door. It started running without pushing the timer knob. It turns off upon opening the door and starts up when closed.
It appears some auto off feature associated with the timer isn't working. Any ideas on what could be causing this or how to attempt a repair short of replacing the expensive timer? Thanks, Guido Ads By Google Related Models |

Guido,
Unfortunately sounds like the timer has gone bad. You can disconnect the buzzer, but it would not fix other problems. - The part number for the timer is AP4038035 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for MAYTAG DE303 | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Thanks, Gene. That what I had figured. But, I hadn't thought about simply disconnecting the buzzer. That will get us back up and going until we decide to either replace the timer or the whole dryer. The timer works fine other than the issues that I mentioned. With the buzzer disconnected it still runs through which ever cycle we choose and stops correctly.
