My dryer has been running fine without any issues. This morning I went to dry a load of laundry and the on button buzzes but doesn't start. My husband said he just tried moving the drum by hand but it doesn't want to move. Would this be caused by a broken belt or something worse?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for KENMORE 11062712101 | AppliancePartsPros.comThe Sears parts site will have actual part breakdown diagrams. Would this be caused by a broken belt or something worse? It will be something else but I cannot say if it will be worse. If it was just a broken belt it would turn easier as you are no longer turning the motor. To see if something has jammed between the tub and frame (bra wires are famous for this). Be careful in case the object is something sharp. If nothing is jammed in there you will have to open it up and find the cause. There are a number of videos on Yahoo on how to do this. Just Google videos using "dryer repair" |
