Well, without a model number I am assuming you have the basic dryer. Unplug the machine, take off the back and test each fuse and thermostat for continuity. If all check out, test the heating element for continuity to the cabinet. If it has continuity to the cabinet it is broken and grounded out. If it is not grounded, test the heating element for ohms.
Most importantly, after you find the problem be sure and clean out the dryer, particular the venting system. Make sure there is absolutely no obstruction for air to leave the dryer. Good luck and post what you find.
