my dryer won't start. Replaced timer due to the fact that I could not hear it ticking. The new timer only makes noise in the timed dry(low heat) mode jumped door and start switch. Checked element not burnt thru but metal piece holding element looks slightlt burnt and has crack please help

The first thing I would check is the thermal fuse (#23 on the bulkhead parts break down diagram). Replace if it's open.
