Model Number: AEM407L2 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
I own a Speed Queen and at purchase it needed a heat assembly 240 (AP4072871). I have replaced that which did come with a high limit thermostat (AP4298584) and a dryer thermal fuse(AP4048636). Me and another individual checked the wiring with a voltage checker and the heat assembly is recieving 12V. Also the dryer is blowing cold air. For some odd reason the unit still is not heating up. I need to know can the thermostat l140 which is located on the front of the dryer motor affect the heat from kicking on or would it be the timer causing this problem?

It will blow cold air if it is only getting 12 volts, this is probably just ghost voltage. For some odd reason the unit still is not heating up. I need to know can the thermostat l140 which is located on the front of the dryer motor affect the heat from kicking on or would it be the timer causing this problem? I cannot find a wiring diagram for this unit. Do you have it? It does look like the blower thermostat is the main heat control thermostat. Could also be a timer problem but a wiring diagram would help so you know which contacts supply power to the heating coil.
