Model Number: CEW9868KQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
The dryer was for approximately 10 minutes and just stopped and now there is no power . we have checked the house circuits and the power supply all seem to be in working order. Wcant do the diagnostic check because there is no power. The tests that we have done seem to indicate that the electronic control assembly or the touch pas needs to be replaced. both are fairly pricey. is there anything we might try first before replacing these parts

I cannot find any info on the given model number.
Tried here and at the Whirlpool site. Please check it. How do you know that the power is OK? Did you measure it? Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out If OK Check the power at the terminal strip. Do this with the heater off and on. Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

Still could not find info on the given model number GEW9868AQ0.
But did find info on GEW9868KQ0so the following is for that unit. Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GEW9868KQ0 RESIDENTIAL DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.com See the attachment for the tech sheet checked all the touch pad does not function the dryer is not getting power is there maybe a fuse in the dryer itself. I cannot see a fuse that would cause a no power to anything fault. You did not answer my questions so I cannot be of much help. If the drum light also does not work then the probable cause would be with the house wiring or the door switch. I am going to the cottage for a few days so will not be available.
