Model Number: WED5540SQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
Our electric dryer has begun to shut off after about 5 minutes of use when we try to dry clothes on the high heat setting. This started a few days ago. It can be restarted fairly quickly, but still only runs for a few minutes before stopping again (while on high heat). It will run through the entire timed cycle on medium or low heat. Also, this may be unrelated, but 2 weeks ago it quit working altogether when closing the door under normal pressure. It almost always has to be re-opened and closed forcefully to get it started now. Is there a particular part (or parts) that would be suspect for this situation?
