Default GE gas dryer problem
Model Number: DDG5980R   Brand: GE   Age: 5 - 10 years   
Dryer runs fine but will only ignite when I put pressure on the Timer knob. Then will extinguish when I release pressure. Is the solution to replace Timer assembly?

Yes replace timer...common GE dryer problem with that model.
