how can i tell if limit switch is good?limit has four spade connectors two of them show continuity but the other two dont is it still good?

I think you are confusing the hi-limit with the cycling thermostat.
The hi-limit is Item 3 in Section 4. It should measure 0 ohms and only has 2 connectors.

The cycling thermostat has 4 connectors.
2 are the contacts, should measure 0 ohms.
The other 2 are the internal heater, should measure around 7,000 ohms,.
May be measuring open because you are using too low of a meter scale,
