Dryer works fine, but every now and then, I noticed burnt spots on the clothes. Once a strap was caught on the inner rubberized ring around the opening and was burnt beyond repair. Other times, it's just a big burnt stain. This is not everytime a load is being dried. What causes this? Can it be repaired reasonably?

Yes, it can be repaired, and it is really not that expensive. You need to replace the rear bearing because it is worn, and the clothes are getting caught on the front side of the drum. Tom ********************************************

I looked at the diagram and want to clarify the rear bearing that you stated. Is it that bearing inside the drum? Do I buy the bearing kit with the ball shaft, bearing, ball bearing, ball bearing retainer? Please advise. THX.

Yes, that is right. When you replace it, I want you to fill up the cup that the ball bearing sleeve fits into, with all the lithium greese they give you. Because the manufacturer never puts in enough, and that is why you have to replace it today. Tom ********************************************
