I have a gas dryer that was not heating. I opened it up and saw the wire heading to the igniter was worn pretty badly. I replaced the igniter and it would glow but their was no flame. I then replaced the coils and started it up. I got flame! I closed everything up and started a cycle but it was not getting hot.
I opened the dryer up again and ran a couple of tests. Nothing. Not even a glow from igniter. I decided to try one more time and with a little bang on the side of the unit the igniter started to glow and the thing lit up. I tested it two more times with the unit open and everything worked. I closed it up again and no heat once again! Now I can't get the igniter to glow anymore at all. It seems that once the igniter glows the gas kicks on. The problem is getting the igniter (which is brand new) to work.

Any suggestions out there?
