Model Number: GLEQ2152ES Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
Hey everyone! Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
I have a (about) 3 year old frigidaire dryer that hasnt had any heat for about the last year. This model has 2 bigger wires going to a relay on the back of the control board that runs the heater. I originally wired my own switch and used that to get some heat and anytime the switch is on, the heater heats up good and hot. I had thought that this problem was caused by a bad control board, so that was replaced recently. After replacement I ran some clothes through it, stuck my hand in there after it was running for a few mins and it was warm! So...good to go right? Nope. =(. The heat hasnt come on since. I have since ohmed out the 2 temp sensors that are right next to eachother, both read 0ohms. I have ohmed the heating element and get 12 ohms. I have taken it apart again and verified that the heater will activate if switched manually. So...my questions are : What else could cause this? Did i have a damaged control board and damage my new one already due to another problem? Is there any other sensor, thermal limiter or ?? that could be causing this? I am a auto tech by trade, so I am very lost in the world of appliances...help!! Thanks all! Adam Ads By Google Related Models |

Ok, update already...
I checked my thermister. I had no clue there was another sensor until I just looked at the wiring diagram again. Anyways, i got 12kohms @ room temp (65 or so). My tech sheet shows 50kohm as a spec. Is this far enough out to cause it? What temp does the tech sheet refer to? |

The thermistor is the culprit.
- The part number for the thermistor is AP3866842 Here are the break down diagrams and Replacement parts for FRG GLEQ2152ES0 | AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.

Thank you! Got it and installed today...perfect!!
For the record, the new thermister was 50kohms @ room temperature. I used a potentiometer in place of the thermister to verify this, just adjust the pot to your temp spec and see if the heat comes on! Thank Gene! |

You are welcome. I'm glad you were able to fix it.
