Removing the timer knob.

Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a Maytag Atlantis Dryer Model MDG7400AWW S/N13537554AX.

I have to replace the timer. I've got the new timer but I can't figure out how to get the knob off of the old timer in order to remove it. It's a pull to start so I can't just pull the knob off. Any ideas?
