ge dryer not heating

on my ge dryer the burner wont stay on.after selecting proper settings dryer starts ignitor glows red hot ,gas flows flame starts burns for 5 to 10 seconds flame shuts off. about 60 seconds later it repeats the same procedure. i replaced high limit termostat still same problem.high limit termostat opens when flame is on 5 to 10 seconds if i jump the high limit termostat flame stays on till i remove jumper.vents & air flow are clear.do you think the new termostat is bad or somthing else .any advise would be appreciated. THANKS
