I need a start switch for a 1971 Kenmore gas dryer, part # 346628 or # 279172. This is a three (3) wire switch.

I guess I haven't been specific enough just yet. Part #346628 and #279172 are push-to-start switches on the top panel of the dryer. BOTH switches are discontinued items but I thought someone might have an old one that still works.

Tried to cross reference your numbers had no luck.

Cannot even find any info on this machine.

Do you have a wiring diagram for the unit?
Most Push To Start switches are two connector.
Only Push To Start three contact switches that I have seen are actually a Push to Start Relay,
Are the switches connectors labeled and if yes what are they?
Perhaps posting a photo of it would help.

You may have to do a jiggery pokery to get the unit fixed but need to know what the switch actually is and how it is wired.

With some luck perhaps someone else will jump in with a source for this.

I have also just exhausted my search too. I apologize, I was thinking door switch. The only thing you can do is figure out which two of the wires to jump out, so when you turn the timer on it will come on. I will search for a wiring diagram. If I get one, I will get back to you.
