Model Number: Model #DEGX1 Brand: -brand- Age: 1 - 5 years
I read the info posted by Brian <title>Appliance Repair Blog
and I have the same dryer, same problem, but I can't tell for sure if the squeak is coming from the right side or not. can I take the bearings and and visually tell if they are bad? If so, what do bad ones look like? Ads By Google Related Models |

Replace the bearing, that is your problem. When you remove the old bearing, be sure to clean the area out with some nail polish remover. When you asked what a bad bearing looks like, you will see a dark color looking grease. The would be the bearing bleading. What a great dryer. Top Loader. I am praying one of you guys sees this quick!! I am in the process of replacing the bearing mentioned above and the inlet bearing retain er (the gold ring with holes that you screw into place before putting on the thrust washer-at least I think these are the correct names) does not lay flush against the plate because the bearing diameter seems too big. I guess the other was worn down, but should the retainer stand out about 1cm from the plate? Seems like when I put in the screws it will be strained. Does this sound right?

I finally figured out how to put that ring on and now my dryer is purring like kitten. thank you guys so much for operating a forum where you don't charge for your expert advice. If you ever need advice on babies (I'm a neonatal nurse), I'm your girl!
