Model Number: rex5634kq1 Brand: Roper Age: 1 - 5 years
Hi, My oldest son fell and landed on the dryer door and bent it out at the top some time ago. It has worked fine, until recently. Now, the dryer is taking 2-3 cycles to dry a normal load of clothes. We checked vent and is fine. Top edge of door is sometimes loose by the end of load, but not open. Could this be causing enough loss of heat to cause this. We are trying to decide whether to purchase a new door or new dryer. Also, if you suggest new door, do we need the "front" and "rear" door parts? Do they fit together inside each other or do we just need the front door? Thanks for your help. With a large family, the dryer is essential.

Here is your parts breakdown.
Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL REX5634KQ1 | AppliancePartsPros.com Top edge of door is sometimes loose by the end of load, but not open. Could this be causing enough loss of heat to cause this. What you are actually doing is sucking air through the heater assembly, then through the drum and then out the exhaust. So if it is sucking in cold air from the door it will affect the drying , also it will pull less air through the heater. We are trying to decide whether to purchase a new door or new dryer. Also, if you suggest new door, do we need the "front" and "rear" door parts? Do they fit together inside each other or do we just need the front door? Cannot say without being there. I would remove the door and take it apart. Who knows you may be able to straighten it.
