I have a speed queen marathon dryer that is about 20 yrs old. It was originally nat. gas and converted to propane about 5 yrs ago, after being in storage for about 3 yrs. The drying time has been very slow since then. It stopped heating up all together about 2 yrs ago and I replaced both of the coils. This got it to fire, but the drying time was still very long. I recently tried replacing the limit thermostat and I think it made it worse. The flame only stays lit for about 10 seconds now.

J, Disconnect the exhaust venting from the back of the dryer, and re check the burner flame on time, should be closer to 60 seconds, with nothing in the drum. Then check the exhaust vent pipe for length, cologs and restrictions. Good Luck, :) :) :)
