This older Electric Maytag dryer (model #LDE-710), now won't shut off unless you open the door. Closing the door again....it stays off). There is no timer on this model, just electronic dry control. A few months ago, it was shutting down before the clothes were dry and had to be restarted, but now has switched to the current problem, and the heater coil is working fine. Unrelated, about 6 months ago, I put a new blower wheel in as the original had sheared, clean all vents at that time. Plenty of warm air blows out. A local appliance repair friend, thought it might be the mother board, but he hasn't looked at it. And what about the moisture sensor...do they ever go bad. I just cleaned that sensor and removed and cleaned the four temp sensors just downwind from the blower....no change.
