starting problems
Model Number: AD55 Brand: -other- Age: 1 - 5 years
Hi guys, i am having trouble with my dryer, it is a Fisher and Paykel AD55. 4.5kg. When it is switched on, the drum doesnt spin unless you turn it manually first then switch it on. The dryer will then work fine until it stops to change direction during the cycle. I suspect the motor is weak or not getting enough voltage. Any way i can check either of these or solve the problem? any help is much appreciated, thanks

just pulled apart and found the capacitor had split a hole in it, some black substance had oozed out and set on the unit. unit looks swollen and as though it may have overheated. would a fault in this cause the starting problem? anyway i can test the unit?
