Dryer Repair

I have the frigidaire electric laundry center and the dryer has started making a loud squealing noise, would it be the belt? I would like to know before I purchase one and try putting it on myself. I am single and have no one else to do it.

Judy,

A worn dryer drum belt, is a possibility,

But a high pitched squealing noise on that style dryer is usually due to a worn out drum bearing assembly or idler pulley,

In short, you'll need to totally dismantle the dryer(basically) but it is a do able repair, for a DIY'r.
