The dryer runs fine but no hot air. Checked lint and that's all clear. What should Icheck next?

Betsy,

You should check the ignition process next.

On the lower area of the front panel, there is a 1X1 inch square plastic cover that is removable.
Carefully remove the cover, start the dryer on a high heat setting, and use the "peep"hole for observing the process:

Start the dryer, you should hear a click noise.
You should see the igniter start to glow red.
After a few seconds, you should hear another click.
The igniter glow, should start to fade and the gas should be released and the gas ignite, and flame appear.

No glow would indicate a broken igniter, bad flame sensor switch or open thermostat/wire.
Glow never fades, bad flame sensor switch.
Igniter glows, then fades, but no flame, indicates a bad set of gas valve coils.

Let us know what does or does not occurr, and we'll go from there.

:) :) :)

Thanks for the reply Joe. The dryer clicks on, I see the glow, the flame comes on sometimes but it just goes out. If I shut the dryer off and restart, same thing. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes it doesn't.

Betsy,

I have a feeling that it's a weak set of coils, like Gabe, stated.

One way to verify it, would be the same process, start the dryer, etc. Let the dryer run/heat for 20 minutes, Then do the observation, again. It can take a while, when the weak coil issue begins, the longer the coils are energized, the weaker the circuit gets, and should fail.

Another check, is to start the dryer and open the dryer door within 20 seconds, you'll need to do this several times(3 to 5 times) then start th dryer and do the observation again.

:) :) :)
