Model Number: MDG9606AWW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
The ignitor will turn on and glow red hot, the gas sometimes ignites and runs thru the cycle. Other times it will not start the gas. I replaced the radiant sensor. It seems too long for the activation of the selonoid to start the gas flowing. Is there a timing device that has to be replaced? Thank you in advance.

More than likely, you need a new Coil kit (gas valve) - 2 coils for your burner. As the coils age, they will allow gas to flow a few times, then the igniter will glow, but the gas will newer flow. So the complaint is usually the dryer heating at the beginning of a cycle, then it stops and the clothes are still wet at the end. If you replaced the radiant sensor, you already know how to get to the coils.
