The seal in the front and back of the drum is not flush with the drum. There are gaps and it seems that clothing catches in the gap and becomes discolored. It would seem that both seals should be replaced. What does the task entail and approximate repair time?

Thanks.

Here are your parts
Model LDG9801AAW

Here is a service manual

Cannot say how long it will take depends how handy you are also it is better to take your time and do it right. Give yourself at least an afternoon. Make yourself diagrams etc. of anything that you may forget how it goes back together. A digital camera comes in handy for this.

Open it up and beside the seals also check the belt, rear suspension rollers, idler wheel, front glides etc. for wear and bearing slop. Might as well do an overhaul while you have it open.

Give the interior a good clean. Clean and check the blower wheel.
Also clean and check your vent system.
