I just finished replacing the drum rollers on this dryer and after I got it all put back together, the timer will no longer advance. Before the repair it didn't advance in the auto dry mode, but the timed dry worked fine. Now it won't advance in any mode. Everything else works fine. I'm 100% certain the wires are connected correctly. Are those timers delicate enough to get damage while repairing the dryer? I was very careful with all the parts and I don't want to shell out $90 for a timer if that isn't the problem.

Remove one of the timer motor wires and check the motor for continuity. If it's open the timer has to be replaced.

I just bought a timer from app to replace the old one because it hasn't worked in the auto-dry mode for years and that didn't fix the problem. The only thing left to replace is the cycling thermostat on the blower isn't it? Shouldn't the timer still advance in timed dry if I select no heat even if the cycling thermostat is bad?
