The dryer will not start. I have checked the connections and everything is good. The thermal fuse is good. I can hear the timer running when the door is closed and the push to start button clicks when pushed. When I open the door the timer stops making its noise and when I close the door the timer starts working again and the push to start button is reset and clicks. The dryer will not start.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL WED5300VW0 29" ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram. Since the timer is running you have L1 to Neutral power which also runs the motor. Unplug the unit. Set the timer to mid scale timed dry. And either the wires to either T or W on the timer and check that the timer contacts measure 0 ohms (closed). If OK reconnect the wire/s and check that the start relay contacts close when the button is pushed. |
