i was checking to see if the ignightor was working and lighting the dryer. the ignightor turned on and did light but took about 15-20 seconds to do. I turned the dryer off and reatarted it. as i was waiting, i tapped the side of the burner tube and it caused the gas to open and light. would that indicate a bad flame sensor or could it be just a loose connection? i cleaned off the sensor glass also. what are the symtoms of a bad flame sensor?

thank you

If the igniter will not allways turn the gas valve on, you probably have a bad igniter. If you have an amprobe, current should be well over 3 amps. The current may be near the trip point and tapping opened it up. Just order it from this site AP4037378

i may have explained incorrectly. i tapped the large tube that the flame sensor is attached to. not the burner tube.

Repost this as either a failed heat or an intermittant one. If the igniter fails to open the gas valve it usually is a bad igniter.
