It sounds like a bad motor, or a broken belt. I would really need a motel # to tell for sure. Tom ********************************************

Could be the belt has broken or the centrifugal switches
That you have heat is an indication of this. The motor has centrifugal switches on it. When the motor rotates they close One switch completes the circuit to the heating coils. So if the motor does not rotate you should not have heat unless the switch is messed up. The other switch disconnects the start winding in the motor. If the mechanism that actuates these switches is broken or binding it will hold the switches closed and you can then get heat and the motor will not start.
