If it never stops then your timer must not be advancing. Set it to a timed dry and remember where you set it. If you come back in 10 minutes and it hasn't moved, the timer is not advancing and thus will never stop the dryer.

Here are your parts
Model MDE8400AYW

Sounds like the timer is not working.
Best way to check is with a meter.
With the unit unplugged, remove one of the timer motor leads from the timer and measure the motor for continuity. If it is open yopu need a new timer. This just checks for a blown motor. If OK put the wire back and do the next step.

Be careful the unit has 240 volts so is very dangerous.

While running check for voltage (120 volts AC) across the timer motor.
If it has voltage and is not advancing then the timer needs replacing.

Another way is if you can hear the timer running but it is not advancing, then the timer is shot.

Or you could just buy and install a new timer but this is a bit of a gamble.
