Default Doesn't start - dryer keeps blowing fuse
Model Number: DE312   Brand: Maytag   Age: More than 10 years

We took it apart to replace a screeching drum roller. WHen we put it back together and plugged it in, it started for a second and then sparked and then smelled awful. I saw the sparks on the top of the heating element shroud. The circuit breaker was tripped.

If I am getting no continuity thru that high limit thermostat could that be the problem?

I know just enough to be dangerous. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,
