Does anyone know if a bad door switch would cause the timer not to work. The switch does not work and the dryer will run and run.

yes it could be a bad door switch, or it could be the thermal fuse, that is located behind the back panel of the dryer, and is white in color, and is about an inch and a half long, by a half inch wide, and has 2 wires coming to it, and is held in by 1 screw. the part # is 3392519. tom applianceeducator.com - parts
