Model Number: 110.74632300 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
The dryer would ignite the first time then it wouldnt ignite anymore but the ignitor would get hot. I replaced the gas valve coils and it seems to have fixed the problem, but now the timer wont work in permanent press mode, but it will work in timed mode.

Have you checked and cleaned your complete exhaust vent system, including the exterior vent hood ? Disconnect the exhaust vent from the dryer exhaust, and run a load of clothes on the premanent press cycle if it works, that'll confirm a vent problem. Good Luck,

Apparently, you still have a heat problem. Are you sure the burner is igniting, every time the igniter glows ? (you may have to remove the "peep hole" on the front panel and make sure) The other possibility, would be a bad/weak hi limit or cycling thermostat, Part number: AP3131939 Part number: AP3176214 But, I can't help but think you still have an ignition problem or gas flow problem. You may have an internal failure in the gas valve itself.

If ther timer advances on timed dry, it's not likely the timer(98 to 99 %). If it is heating properly,(155 dgrs on reg temperature) and the hi limit thermostat is not opening. It would be a broken wire(usually orange) that goes from the timer to the heater thermostat. That wire, completes the circuit to the timer motor, when the thermostat opens and there is no heat, the circuit closes and allows the timer to "auto advance". When the dryer starts to heat, the circuit is open and the timer motor won't advance, until the heat is off. You'll need to check that wire to see where it's broken, then replace the timer as the last option. That wire,
