want to know what type of problem a sqeeking noise could be when the dryer is turned on and running?

Some units use a center mount rear support, these are notorious for squeaks.
Idler wheel
Rear support rollers (if used) more often a rumbling noise
Front glides more often a scraping noise
Motor bearings

Damen.. If it were the roller bearings, is this something a do it yourselfer could tackle?

Yes any DIYer with a moderate amount of mechanical ability can replace any of the items I listed.
