My dryer rarely stops on its own. We have replaced the timer and it makes no difference. Dial still barely moves. Any other thoughts? I was wondering if the sensors might be the issue, but it doesn't stop on timed drying either.

I'm about ready to toss the thing. I'm afraid it is costing us plenty in extra electricity.

JCook,

Yes, the sensor bar in the drum, could be the problem, remove it, clean any built up debris under, and the backside of the bar. clean the metal strips with rubbing alcohol, and re install.

You may also have a weak circuit or loose connection at the dryness display board and check the line cord connections at the terminal block. You must maintain a good and proper connection to neutral and or ground to the outlet in order to drive the display board and timer motor properly.

If need be, please supply a serial number for your unit so we can verify proper parts and circuit checks, The proper information is based on the "series" number, and can create problems.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Thank you so much. We'll (that's an imperial "we") try the sensor in the drum and get back to you. Actually, the husband unit will take the dryer apart and clean the sensor, and, I, the wife unit, will let you know if it works.

FYI the Serial Number is 24672594EN.

J,

The husband, only needs to remove two screws(holding the sensor to the bulkhead, and disconnect 2 wires, Don't loose the wires(let them fall into the dryer cabinet). The cleaning process is the more important part of the repair.
