The dryer is currently not working. While it was in use it started to run forever without cutting off. It would heat but I just had to stop it manually when clothes were dry. One day it quit heating. So I took it apart and it needs a new heating element but I'm also wanting to fix the problem with it not cutting off on it's on. I really don't have any tools to test voltage or anything. Just screwdriver and sockets. So any advice is appreciated

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL TEDS740PQ0 29"ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram. If when it was not turning off you did not check it in timed dry then there is a possibility that replacing the heating element will also fix the unit not shutting off. In auto modes the timer motor gets power through the heating coil when the coil is shut off. So depending how the coil failed it could have been stopping the timer from advancing. |
