Ok,

We need to know what occurs during the ignition process,

Make sure you have gas supplied to the dryer and gas valve.

Remove the 1"x1" square plastic cover in the front panel, and start the dryer in a timed dry setting.

Using the "peak" hole, observe what occurs:

You should hear a click in the unit,
The igniter should start to glow red,
in a few seconds you should hear another click, and the igniter should start to fade, and the gas should ignite.
No click noise, bad coils or thermostat.
No glow from the igniter, bad igniter,or flame sensor switch.
Glow stays on and no fade, bad flame sensor switch.
Igniter cycles on and off but no flame, bad coils, no gas to gas valve

There could be a broken or loose wire,

Let us know what you find when you observe the burner operation, and we can go on from there.

:) :) :)

After doing all of that, I am here to say all that was wrong. It was the Fuse! Thank you though for the response.

Great job,
A "blown fuse" would indicate an overheat problem, you did check and clean the exhaust vent and checked the vent hood, I hope.

Great Job,

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

I too am having a heating problem
Kenmore Gas Dryer series 80 model 11.72822100
Bought and replaced solinoids, didnt fix my heating prob.

I hear a click in the unit,
The igniter starts to glow red,
in a few seconds I hear another click, and the gas lights.
Gas stay on for over two minutes, then turns off.
About 30-45 seconds goes by and the igniter glows, but the flame never comes back on.
So it sounds like the thermostat, but I checked all fuses and sensors on the back and ALL have continuity.
Cleaned out the vents, (lots of lint) Good vent air flow outside the house.
I'm totally at a loss as to why the unit stops heating after a few minutes of working.

Thank you for you imput.

Zog,

I'm going to presume, the glow bar igniter and the gas valve continue to cycle, off and on, with no flame.

I think we have a couple of possibilities:

Since you've replaced, both the valve solenoids/coils, I would think you may have a gas flow/pressure problem to the dryer, or a mechanical failure in the gas valve itself(not too uncommon).

You may also have a weak "Hi Limit" thermostat, Back on the inlet flue to the drum, It's not designed to operate as a cycling device, and doesn't take long to get weak.
