Maytag Washer model # MAV3757AWW insignia First noticed 2 of the 4 Agitator main blades are broken off? And the clothes are still quite wet. Like the spin dry cycle is not working? Than after I used a screw driver to by-pass the lid switch. And did a visual inspection of a full wash cycle. I found: In both the wash cycle and the rinse cycles. Things start out OK. But after about one minuet of normal agitating. The unit stops working normally. All the water is pumped out. And the agitator starts cycling back and forth with no water in the drum? I think this “no water” agitation is what broke the blades off the plastic Agitator. To make things worse, in the spin cycle. The drum starts and tries to spin. But before it is able to come up to full speed. The agitator again starts to cycle back and forth. Slowing the slowly spinning drum. Then the drum stops spinning and this. begins again. Just slapping against the still wet clothes. For the majority of the cycle. One of the web-sights where you pay for a diagnose. Is telling me the timer is bad. I just do not see that as the problem. It seems to be worse with a large load. Just feels like the motor is not spinning fast enough to force the trans all the way into spin mode. The auger will fight the drum getting completely in to spin step? Just not comfortable purchasing a timer without more diagnostic steps to confirm it is at fault.
