I am trying to replace the gas igniter. What is the easiest way to get into the cabinet to make the repair? Maytag pyg2300aww

I don't about your particular model but I worked on a Maytag gas dryer on 4-18. I had to use a putty knife to raise the top then you can gain access to the two screws on each side that hold the front on. Unplug from wall socket and take the wires off the door switch then you can pull the front up and away. You should then be able to gain access to the gas valve. Put your putty knife flat between the top and the front and run it along the gap until you feel it stop. Then pull back on the knife slightly and push it on th efront of the clip you just felt. Do this on one side then the other and yout top should raise right up.
