I've checked our circuit breaker and seems to be fine.
the drum turns both ways fine. I've cleaned the lint from almost every possible area and still nothing when i push the start dial nothing happens and i hear a verry soft winding noise (when very close to dial) probably just the timer. How do i tell if its the door switch? It clicks and has resistance to it when i push in so i don't think that is the problem.

It is a Maytag (Capacity Plus) Admiral

My father is a very capable Diesel Mechanic we really just need some help Identifying the cause of why it stopped

Darren, the first palce you need to start checking, on that style unit with your complaint, is the heater thermal fuse/hi limit thermostat.

Part number: AP4242472

You'll need to raise the top of the dryer, and you'll find the components mounted to the heater assembly in the left rear corner of the cabinet.
