I have a Maytag dryer model MDE3000AYW. The drum won't turn.

I've taken the drum belt off and tried to run the motor. The motor shaft turns about 1/8 of a revolution, clicks and then repeats the cycle.

Is the motor bad? Are the bearings bad? Can the bearings be replaced without replacing the motor?

Thanks!

Yes, it does sound like a bad motor.
I do not think that it is bad bearings.
Sounds like the main winding may be burned out (open).

No, you have to replace the motor.
