i bought the part for this model number and there are only two prongs the orginal had four my question is where do the purple wires go ? ;)

Here are the parts Replacement parts for Maytag MED5600TQ0 29`` ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.comI am assuming you mean the main thermostat (Item 8 in Section 3). Sounds to me that you received the wrong part. If you click on the part's picture you will get more views of it and it definitely shows 2 sets of contacts. One set is the thermostat's contacts. The other set is an internal heater that is turned on for lower temperature settings. It adds heat to the thermostat which lowers the dryer's heat output |
