Default dryer won't heat similar to other post's
Model Number: LEQ6848AQ3   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

I saw Gene's recommendation to the dryer heating problem of Whirlpool 5yr old model. I have the same problem. Thermal Fuse as that same one, numbers match, but the Cycling Thermostat looks completely different than the picture provided at the parts page. On this model the Thermostat has 5 wires coming off of it as apposed the the two as shown on the parts page. I intend to get the fuse tested but will need the part number for the thermostat if replacement is required. As you said its recommended the thermostat be changed if the fuse blows.

Check your ducting in the house for lint buildup. They sell a linteater 4 inch brush for this.
Check heater thermal fuse, if blown out, you can order a thermal fuse/overload thermostat pn 279973

Thank you richappy, I do regular maintenance on cleaning the vent. If the brush makes it easier I'll get it. getting the fuse tested tomorrow.
Take care
