When the dial is pressed to start the drying cycle, the display shows "Drying" but nothing happens. Also, I can hear an immediate click, which sounds like it is coming from a relay on the board "part # AP4045210.
I know this because I took the cover and board mount off and listened to it while I was pressing the dial to start the cycle.

Is it common for the board to go bad o this model, or could it be something else?

Sounds like you might have a bad thermal fuse. Unplug the unit first. Then you will need to take the top panel off, then the front control panel. Then the front panel, all so you can get to the little 1" round thermostats under the drum. Check all the fuses for continuity. If one or more is open replace them. Be sure and check your vent if one of these are bad. Here are some part numbers.
Part number: AP4045367

I ohmed all thermofuse's and were good. I did replace the thermister and still no go. Do you recommend I replace the board in question?
