replaced timer relay and door switch on dryer. tested worked fine. Placed cloths in dryer and started cycle, everything seemed to be working fine first few times I checked. Timer was running, the relay when pushed while door was closed started dryer. The door when opened stopped the cycle. About half way through cycle I opened the door expecting cycle to stop, it did not. I had to turn the timer to off to stop cycle. The switch was acting just as the old one did before replacing. I checked continuity on switch. It seemed fine. had continuity when switch was closed(pushed in), none when open. Help!!

Please check your Model Number cannot find any info using given number.
There is info on LER7646A but has another letter and numeral on the end, so looks like it comes in a number of different flavors.. |

Here is the parts breakdown Model LER7646AN2Here is the tech sheet https://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%203401723.pdfLooked at the wiring diagram and nothing jumps out that could cause this. So my initial feeling would be to check the door switch actuator. Did this ever work correctly or has it been doing this all along? Just trying to eliminate a wiring problem. Disconnect both wires from the buzzer and tape them up so they cannot short to anything and give it a try. Perhaps it is shorting internally to ground. Try it with different cycle types (auto/timed and temps), perhaps this will help troubleshoot it. This is a bit of a long shot. |

taped off the buzzer switch wires no change. No change if I use different dryer setting. I have had this dryer for estimated 5 years. It was a handme down from sister. The door switch to my recollection has never worked until the one time two days ago when I replace the parts listed in my first post.

i diconnected the switch hookup wires and the dryer started up when I reconnected power and pushed relay start button. Am I correct in the assumption that with the switch diconnected the dryer should not run. Does this mean I have a short somewhere in the wiring from switch?

I found and fix the problem! The blue wire running from the switch was pinched between the brum and lint trap. It was bare and grounding out the switch. I tapped over the bare area and everything is working as it should. Denman, thanks for getting back to me with advice and providing the wiring layout pdf. Your info pushed me in the direction of a wiring short. thank you, Rcubed1

Do not think I am understanding this, is the below assumptions correct?
Disconnected the door switch
Power on
Start button started the machine
Am I correct in the assumption that with the switch diconnected the dryer should not run.

In your first post you said you replaced the "timer relay", was this the push to start relay?
It does look like for some reason Neutral or Ground is always present at the top of the PUSH TO START RELAY (CT1).
The big question is how is it getting there. Is it a short in the wiring or the timer OR and this is a big OR: Was there a problem with the unit in the past and someone has done a jiggery pokery to the unit to get it running. |

All your assumptions are correct.
The timer relay is a typo should read timer, relay.
In my last reply another typo should read drum not brum.
Again thanks for the advice, it did help me fix problem.
