We have a Kenmore dryer Type # 180-00, Model/Stock number 66722694. Our heating element needs replacing. The part number is AP3094254 which is available.

However, there is a part attached the the side of the element which can be removed which attaches to the heating coils. Can this be reused or do we have to get a new one? The part number on this piece is 3399693, L121.1-44.4C. Can anyone please advise?

As long as that part test good you can reuse it. That's the thermostat fix.
