not sure how old this machine is because we just bought the house and it came with the sale. Here is the problem:The dryer shuts itself off during a cycle and when I try to turn it back on, it makes a buzzing sound or no sound at all and sometimes there is a burning smell also. But it wont turn on again until it cools off. I thought it had to be the timer .I replaced the timer with part #WPL=53-1810 but this did not fix the problem as I had hoped. I called customer service to inquire about returning the timer part and the customer service representative suggested I come on this forum to inquire which part to try next. Any answers are most welcome. Thank you all in advance!

Yes, you need a new motor. The motor is getting hot, and then shutting the dryer off. Tom Appliance Educator, Appliance Parts, Washer and Dryer Parts, Refridgerator and Freezer Parts, Stove and Oven Parts
