starts/stops
Model Number: 70 series Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
push button it starts, release button it stops.
as long as button is depressed, unit will run but no heat, and timers do not advance Ads By Google Related Models

If you have a simple start switch without a relay, you have a bad start switch on the motor. I would pull dryer apart and stick 115 volts to pins 4&5 of the motor to confirm.
