My dryer will not come on at all. It makes a loud buzzing sound when I push the start button. I have cleaned out every possible place for lint build up, and I have checked my breakers. Any suggestions?

Open the door and tape in the door switch. Push and hold the start switch and turn the drum in any direction. If the dryer would start, replace the motor.

- The motor Part number: AP3094233

I tried what you said and the dryer does not start. If I hold the start button in, the buzzing sound will stop, I think its shutting itself down. Is it possible the switch is burnt or needs reset?

We did as you instructed and dryer still doesnt come on. The buzzing sound will go away if I hold the start button down. Is it possibly an electrical issue??

Try to pinpoint this noise and post the results. If you have the wiring diagram and can post it, it might help too.

My Kenmore is having a similar problem...

Too much heat is building up and it's blowing the thermal fuse- which is behind the drum. Major pain to take the dryer apart to get to it. Mine's eaten three fuses so far, and i can't figure out why. From my research here's what you can do...

1. Ensure open airway out vent; I replaced the dryer exhaust tube, cleaned port outside of house, and even shopvacc'd the dryer once it was apart.

2. Clean the lint filter- it can get blocked with all sorts of invisible chemicals shed from dryer sheets

3. test for a grounded heating element; with power off! Connect an Ohm meter to determine if it's grounded- which could result in power all the time.

4. Test the thermostats. If they are bad, they might not shut off the power, causing the overheating

I've done all that and still can't find what's caused the overheating.

best of luck to you!
