The dryer heats up when cold but only stays hot for about 5 - 10 minutes. I have cleaned all the airflow lines of lint and this still happens.

When I take the front door off the burner glows and then lights and the dryer gets very warm (normal temperature). After some period of time (maybe 5 or ten minutes) the dryer has cooled down. I have taken the cover off and the heating element will glow but does not light. At this point in time the dryer is also making an odd noise - kind of a quiet clicking noise.

Any idea what the problem could be?
